Ryan F. Coutlée was born and raised in Central New York. He attended Maryville College, located in Tennessee, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Degree in American Sign Language Interpreting. He graduated from Syracuse University College of Law in 2002,and was admitted to the NYS Bar in 2003. Today, as Partner at the Estate Planning Law Center, Ryan concentrates his practice on estate planning, Medicaid advocacy and asset protection, elder law, and estate administration.
Ryan strives to meet and exceed his clients’ needs by: structuring estate plans to accomplish their personal goals and objectives; advising on eligibility and availability of government benefits related to long term care and home care needs; and assisting clients and families with understanding and navigating the complex issues of aging and illness.
Ryan was active in Scouting, where he obtained his Eagle, and volunteered with various community service organizations in college. He continues his volunteer activities with the Surrogate Decision Making Committee and formerly served on the Family Services Bill Payer Program Advisory Board until it became inactive when taken over by another agency.
Ryan Coutlee co-authored the article, “The DRA One Year Later” for the Summer 2007 issue of Elder Law Attorney. He has presented at local senior centers, nursing homes, agencies and organizations on relevant subject areas.
